Mozhda Jamalzada's family and personal life
Mozhdah Jamalzadah (born December 27, 1982, in Kabul, Afghanistan) is an Afghan singer. During the civil war in Afghanistan, at the age of five, she and her family fled to settle in Canada.
Through her internationally renowned music career and groundbreaking television show The Mozhdah Show, Mozhdah has inspired profound respect and serious controversy in equal measure. She's the first Afghani artist to produce hit records in English, capturing a global audience and performing on international stages. She's the first Afghani woman to brave death threats to host her own talk show and cover sensitive subjects impacting Afghani women and children. She's the first Afghani female artist to perform in the White House, or appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show, or express her mission of empowerment on CNN.

She was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Mozhdah studied broadcast journalism at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Philosophy and Political Science at the University of British Columbia. And she is dubbed as the Oprah of Afghanistan. (Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist )
When Mozhdah's father wrote a protest poem inspired by an acid attack on a group of Kandahar schoolgirls, Mozhdah set it to music and turned it into a hit. Dokhtare Afghan was an instant hit on the Afghan TV stations and airwaves. It brought back the stories of strong Afghan heroines to the homes of many of the Afghans and sparked an interest amongst young Afghan men and women. It also earned Mozhdah many nominations and awards at the Afghan and International TV and radio stations. In December 2009 she was offered a position to work with an up-and-coming television station in Afghanistan, 1TV.
Mozhdah Jamalzada, though not in love with music yet picks the microphone and sings, as she says to be the voice of the Afghanistan women and to break the silence of the silent majority, in the worst country for women !!
Mozhda Jamalzada describes her father as a feminist and her mother her best friend. She says her mother has been the most motivational person and has encouraged her the most to become a singer. "If it weren't for my mother's encouragement, I would probably be a lawyer now," she has said.
Now, Mozhdah is looking for a new experience in the world of cinema and in its audience.
In 2009, Mozhdah Jamalzadah; Mozhdah, a singer who does not love music, played the role of "Khaterah" in the Canadian film "Red Snow"

The film "Red Snow" tells the story of a soldier from the Canadian Arctic Islands who is captured by the Taliban in Kandahar while on a mission in Afghanistan.
Mojdeh Jamalzadeh, who plays the role of "Khaterah", the 26-year-old son of the translator and has similar Looks to Asana, says: "The reason I played this role is that Khaterah is a symbol of a woman's power and empowerment. "This brave woman can save her father and a Canadian soldier from the Taliban."
Language plays an important role in the film, and the actors speak four languages, including Gwich-in, Pashto, and English. In this drama, Mojdeh speaks Pashto.
The singer describes acting in the film as one of the rarest experiences of her life.

Mojdeh Jamalzadeh is a singer and civil activist who has written messages to defend the rights of Afghan women. He is the only Afghan artist to have the opportunity to sing an Afghan song in the presence of the US President inside the White House
Ms Jamalzadeh had worked in 2015 on a project to build a sports stadium, and she came to the United States from Canada to meet with the project's working team.
According to Ms Jamalzadeh, despite all the problems and inconveniences, she will continue her artistic work and will soon offer new songs to her fans

Critiques
Mozhda Jamalzada has been criticised and threatened with death because of not wearing the scarf on her tv show and talking about taboo topics and women rights on her show i.e. the mozhda show from the religious extremist in Afghanistan.
Once she was reported dead and the Canadian embassy sent her back to Canada saying they are incapable of protecting her inside Afghanistan.
