Uzbeks

Uzbeks Uzbeks are a Turkic ethnic group living in Central Asia. Uzbeks make up the majority of Uzbekistan's population, with populations in the Fergana Valley, which includes northern and western Tajikistan and southern Kyrgyzstan, and the Amu Darya coast in eastern Turkmenistan and northwestern Afghanistan. Uzbeks speak a family of Turkic languages, and most of them are Sunni Hanafi Muslims. Among the Soviet-ruled ethnic groups, the Uzbeks suffered the least from Russian cultural assimilation; And often recognize the Uzbek language as their first language. Tajiks of Afghanistan

Tajiks are estimated to make over 27 percent of the total population of Afghanistan. Tajiks are mostly located in the northern part of the country from Herat the western most part to Badakhshan the northwestern province of Afghanistan. Their first language is Farsi/Dari.  They are in the border with China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran.

The country is located along historic trade routes and those used by militaries during invasions, between Eastern Asia and Western Asia. It, therefore, enjoys a mixture of cultures borrowed from Europe, Eastern and Western Asia. The official languages in Afghanistan are Pashto and Dari. Many Afghans are bilingual.
